Prof. Peter Kanyandago

Prof. Peter Kanyandago has been involved in university education for 30 years at different levels. He is a Catholic priest since 1979.

He is the Chairperson of a civil society organisation called African Volunteers Association for promoting social and environmental justice.

He currently serves as Deputy Vice Chancellor of Ibanda University and previously served as Deputy Vice Chancellor at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, Uganda.

His research interests include the violence that Africans are inflicting on themselves. This includes ongoing and past fratricidal and civil wars; domestic violence; Africans looting or invading other countries; practices which are ruining Africans especially all kinds of addictions.

He believe that in addition to psychopathology there is culturopathology. He has published a lot on violence in Africa, and on how African cultures have been eroded.

His other area is African science and knowledge especially in herbal medicine. He personally uses and prescribes herbal medicines. He is growing and documenting herbal plants.

His other area of interest is preserving and using our plant biodiversity especially food plants. Loss of plant biodiversity in some cases is planned by some corporate seed companies to make money and make us dependent.
